BIRTHDAY POEM

from the facebook lover:

today i whisper your name in beatitudes
like tagore's gitanjali
a hand-cupped of songs
for a vast ocean of being
held secretly yet wantonly
in the heart of a poetess-friend
enthralled in the eternal divinity of your spell.

today i will raise your name in a poem
plummeting in the open sky
beyond the ever, ever lands of immortals
i know not in any place
except the rendezvous between page and pen
to curve a monument of words in the heart
for the man who has more than line or verse

especially on his birthday today

you write well, mi dulce amiga. no wonder they fall for you and one even could not resist you and you surrendered the innocence of your womanhood.
there was no chance for us to meet years ago. had we, probably another story. but you were, still are, on the other side of the mountain, and in an island. haha.
another story? suffice is the name.

si, am in the dearly beloved country. the wintry-like weather--shade of the nasty one in california- welcomed me rudely. o the cold siberian winds! o the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak--severe colds and a case of probably trancaso.

  1. My great appreciation for publishing it Senor. Indeed friendship is a very rewarding experience. It nourishes the soul. It transcends even the barriers of time and space...a cliche, maybe....but it holds true to many kindred souls around..friendship that thrives thru cyber space is another thing...something great and unusual when one feels just through the written words...without meeting "the one" in real life. Many works of art are then created and appeared in glowing splendours...in all humility, this birthday poem...Dios te bendice Senor!

  2. Muchas gracias, senorita. I hope to publish Abel blog in book form and sell copies at SM Baguio. Sometimes, we dream but realizing it is another story. But I keep on dreaming.
