WHERE IS MAGANDANG KALSADA?

Laoag street boys strike a pose before the blogger's camera, perhaps not knowing that the 18-century Roman Catholic Church Tower (background) and the Tobacco Monopoly Monument (foreground) are Spanish historical relics of their historic city.

The question, of course, is already answered although the road is not located in the so-called Sunshine City. The sign is found in Northern Ilocos Norte. Magandang kalsada is a strange combination of words in the heart of the Ilocos. It reflects many things, like an evolving language,  or the powers' disrespect for the culture of the Ilokanos. Language is a part of culture.
