I came across an article about the emerging Ilokano writing group. It's a history of its founding, some activities related to writing, accompanied by pictures, one of which captured an event at the Farmers' Training Center in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya: the oath-taking of its first set of officers administered by this blogger. It was him, one of the young lions of Iluko poetry, taking his oath as business manager. He has long ago drifted away. I want him to win the top prize in the Severino and Eufemia Lacar Commemorative Award for Iluko Poetry. The contest is on going. One of the rules: three poems of at least 20 lines each reflecting Iluko culture and published in Timpuyog Journal. Please submit your poems to andrewlab2011@hotmail.com. No pen names are required.
