Dios-ti-agngina, Francisco, Juanita, Apo Padi
As this blog is being written, Francisco Lacar, whose family sponsors the Severino and Eufemia Lacar Commemortive Award in Iluko Poetry, is preparing to fly back to Australia. He came to the Philippines to launch the contest during the 4th TMI-Global International Iluko Literary Conference held at the Convention Hall of the Philippine Ports Authority, Poro, San Fernando City last May. He also came (along with his sister Juanita, who is also based in Australia?) to attend the first death anniversary of his father in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte. If the reader of this blog is a poet in the language, he can send this blogger his or her e-mail address and we will send the contest rules. The contest in the genre offers the biggest major prizes (P10,000 first prize), at least in the country, where writers, specifically poets, are paid a
pittance.
