THE WRITER AS LAW-GIVER
A writer must be decent--in word and deed. As the unofficial legislator of the world, what he does in public and in his private world, must reflect the spirit of the law he or she enacts with respect to human behavior. He is the model of the human specie. Like Epitectus, the Greek philosopher of the ancient world, he must subscribe to the notion that no matter how intelligent and skillful you are, no matter how good you are in your craft, be it as a lawyer or even dancer, you are nothing if you have no personal integrity.
