WE APOLOGIZE FOR THE ERROR
We swallow hook, line and sinker the judges' collective decision not to award the first prize in the Salip iti Salaysay Para Kadagiti Agdadamo --there was a reason given initially in Abel blog, which we have just deleted. We hope to meet the winners, at least some of them, and explain some violations that were committed by some of them. The rules of the contest were clear and could not have been interpreted differently. We apologize for this boner.
Me, my wife Estelita, Franklin and his wife Edna met Lady Fele Mann last night in Santiago City. A week ago, she arrived from Darwin, Australia along with her daughter and her Australian-Filipina apoko. They arrived two days ago from Manila to a attend a wedding at the Glorieta subdivision at the outskirts of the city. The usual beso-beso. After dinner at one of Santiago's eateries with a band, we repaired to Chowking on Maharlika highway, where we talked about the preparations made by Timpuyog dagiti Mannurat iti Iluko iti Filipinas for the 4th TMI-Global International Iluko Literary Conference at the Philippine Ports Authority in Poro, San Fernando City on May 19-20. She gave Franklin 500 Australian dollars, more or less equivalent to cover the cash prizes and purchase of certificates including honorariums for the judges for the Salip iti Salaysay, which she will personally hand to the winners. We expect the following to attend: Herdy La. Yumul, Nhia Paddayuman, Mayvelyn Gapuzan, Jessica Aiza Lictao and Jean Marie Dulay. We are thinking of telling Fely to sponsor again the same contest for new Iluko writers.

Winners of TMIF Salip iti Salaysy Para Kadagiti Agdadamo Identified
We had to finish the job yesterday. Mar R. Llarenas's car broke down because of a bum battery. We were going to Alicia town to meet Rogie C. Baysa for the final judging of Salip iti Salaysay Para Kadagiti Agdadamo. Mabayag pay, Manong, intextna, meaning the battery was being recharged. I was waiting at the "child-friendly" park in San Mateo town along the national hghway Suddenly, from out of nowhere, Mar materialized with a tricycle and a driver. So we rushed to Rogie's place at the poblacion passing wide green fields on either side of the road. Here are the results of a long and difficult process. For one reason or another, we decided not to award the first prize. Second place, Herdy La. Yumul, an instructor of the Mariano Marcos State University in Batac, and one of the country's top bloggers (P5,000 cash prize and certificate); third place, Nhia Paddayuman, a wheel-chair- bound ever-smiling girl from Ramon, Isabela (P4,000 cash prize and certificate.) These are the major winners of the contest sponsored by Timpuyog dagiti Mannurat iti Iluko iti Filipinas and funded by Lady Fele Mann, a Filipina civic-leader in Darwin Australia. A special prize (P2,000 cash prize and certificate was given to Mayvelyn Gapuzan, MMSU College of Education, Laoag campus.)
The consolation prizes of P1,000 each was won by Jessica Aiza Lictao of Bagulin, La Union and Jean Marie Dulay, whose home address and other circumstances are not known.
The awarding of the prizes will be made in the evening of May 19 during the 4th TMI-Global International Iluko Literary Conference at the Philippine Ports Authority Convention Hall in Poro Point, San Fernando City. We cross our fingers that all the winners will attend the affair.

Media and Public Figures
Reymart Santiago and his wife Claudine are public figures. What they do--positive or negative-- in public are subject to expose by media. This is not to say that what media do is absolute; there are limitations. Luis Teodoro said that the media person (before getting his facts) must first identify himself. Is that always the case? In that airport incident,Ramon Tulfo could have identified himself before getting the photo of Claudine berating an airport personnel? The drama could have vanished like the wind when Tulfo observed the protocol. Anyway, the You Tube spoke volumes on the couples mindset and behavior.
